PBS gave a press release today on the TV series we're working on with Dr. David Eagleman on the inner workings of the brain. The Brain: Explorations into the Inner Cosmos will air globally in 2015 as a part of PBS's 'Think Wednesday' lineup of science and nature programming.
IAN's co-founder and co-director of Education and Training, Greg Hicks, completed a behavioral intervention for a group of breast cancer patients at UCSF's Breast Care Center in a pilot study for a new line of IAN research. The pilot program was performed in collaboration with leading faculty at UCSF's Breast Care Center, as well as IAN neuroscientists Dr. Uncapher and Dr. Weiner. Follow-up studies are under way.
IAN's Director of Public Communication, Dr. Kevin Weiner, published a correspondence piece in Nature on an intriguing and previously undiscovered historical fact linking Walt Whitman and neuroanatomist Andrew Parker. Hint: it's through their brains!
